Tilbury is on the river, ten minutes from our base. We cover the town round Tilbury Town station, Dock Road and Calcutta Road, plus the roads out towards Chadwell St Mary.
The town grew up round the docks. There are rows of old dock-worker terraces and lots of post-war homes, many of them rented. So EICRs for landlords, rewires and fuse box upgrades make up most of the work here.
Tilbury Fort guards the river, and the Port of Tilbury is where the Empire Windrush came in back in 1948.
